Our Team

Ross and Carol Thornburgh have been island residents since 1975. Over the years the Thornburghs and their agency have participated in and supported many community activities and organizations. They enjoy the island events, the close proximity to Seattle and the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula.

Leslee McDonald has lived on Bainbridge Island for over 24 years with her husband and two daughters. She has been in insurance since 1996 and joined our staff in June 2006.

Suzanne Day lives in Seabeck with her family. She has been in insurance since 1986 and has extensive experience in Commercial Lines. Suzanne has worked as an underwriter and agent for many years. She is very involved in National Association of Insurance Women. She joined our staff in June 2007.


Our Office

Thornburgh Insurance Office

The quaint Victorian house that is our office was built by the McNeils in 1907. The building has the original cedar siding under the blue paint.

   
In the early 1900’s Ericksen Avenue was nicknamed “Flagpole Alley” because most of the homes had a tall flagpole in their front yard. Today the street is considered a historical area as many of the old houses remain and are used as homes and offices.

Carol plants the flower boxes each spring and keeps the gardens weeded and trimmed. When summer arrives everything is blooming and beautiful.


Our History

After many years in the insurance business working for large brokerage firms, Ross opened his own agency on April 1, 1980. Carol joined him a few months later.

Today, twenty-seven years later, the agency has the same goals as it did in the beginning, which is to help our insureds understand their policies, give objective advice, and provide outstanding customer service. Suzanne and Leslee handle our Personal Lines Insurance. Suzanne also works with Carol on our Commercial Lines Insurance. Ross is knowledgeable in those lines as well as Life, Disability and Long Term Care.
